Meet your therapist
Hello there,
My name is Mais (they/them), I am a PACFA registered psychotherapist, counsellor and personal trainer living and working on the unceded lands of the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation. I am a keen philosopher, activist, teacher, writer and creative. All of which influence and shape my ever-evolving work. I offer online psychotherapy and counselling services, as well as in person
eco-therapy and exercise therapy. To learn more about eco-therapy and exercise therapy, please click here.
My therapeutic practice is for all beings and I am particularly here for the queer community and those who identify as neurodivergent.
I centre liberatory and non-pathologising frameworks woven with an ethics of responsibility and care.
My practice is political by inherent nature and embedded in continually evolving social and ecological justice principles, it is anti-empire and I am consistently aiming towards a de-colonial way of being and working.
As an integrative therapist, I am trained and skilled in an array of modalities. I choose to centre somatic therapy as a core framework and approach, tailoring each treatment plan to each unique client using a number of other modalities. This can include parts work, emotions focused therapy, experiential processing and narrative therapy alongside many other techniques and approaches.
I place significant value on the therapeutic relationship as well as the here-now moment of the therapeutic space.
I value psycho-education, striving to empower clients with knowledge and skills that empower agency and choice.
I work with clients through themes of identity, attachment, relationships, complex trauma, developmental trauma, PTSD, climate anxiety/grief, burnout/stress, belonging, anxiety, grief, depression and existentialism.
Therapy is client-led, working at a pace that feels comfortable yet moving towards collaboratively created outcomes and change.
I hold a space that is warm, curious, grounded and real. No blank slate therapist here.
I look forward to meeting you.
Warmly,
Mais

Client testimonials
“Mais facilitated a firm foundational relationship and manoeuvred sessions to best support my current state whilst simultaneously holding space for my autonomy. I appreciate that we can also share a laugh with lightness and humanness throughout the raw emotional moments. I am very appreciative of the work I have done with Mais and I look forward to our sessions.” - Client
"Before I started seeing Mais, therapy felt extremely daunting, like something not within my reach. After working together for almost five months, I now feel very proud to be gently uncovering parts of myself that I didn’t know were there. As I begin to give voice and attention to these parts, I find myself reflecting on how naturally our work together has unfolded. Mais’s approach has fostered a therapeutic relationship that develops naturally over time, allowing a genuine willingness to share to emerge, rather than a sense of obligation. My experience of therapy has shifted in ways I didn’t expect – it now feels both accessible and meaningful. With Mais’s care and guidance, I feel a growing sense of openness, curiosity and trust in this process of self-development and growth." - Client
